Scope of Privacy Statement

This statement describes the practices Ceridian ("Ceridian") has adopted with respect to user privacy at Ceridian Dayforce website. Ceridian is committed to protecting the privacy of all customers and visitors to our sites. We adhere to the applicable  laws and requirements within Canada and the United States in relation to the processing of any personal data we obtain. Ceridian is a global company and operates a number of websites around the world. Any information you submit may be sent electronically to a server hosting one of these websites in another country. By sending information to us and browsing this Site, you acknowledge and agree to the cross-border transfer of your information.

 

Changes to this Policy

Ceridian may otherwise revise its privacy practices from time to time without further notice. Any changes to this statement will be posted at this location and will take effect immediately after they are posted. Collection of data from that point on will be subject to the new policy. Collecting Personal Information from Children

Because of the nature of our business, our service and benefits are not designed to appeal to minors.  We do not knowingly attempt to solicit or receive any information from children.

 

What information we collect

Personally Identifiable Information is information about you, such as your name, a government issued identification number, biometric identifier, business contact information, home address, personal and business email address,  user ID or other information that may be used to identify you.

 

Ceridian, as a processor of information under contract with its customers, may collect personally identifiable information about you to perform services for our customers.  In this case, Ceridian does not obtain consent directly from its customers' employees with respect to payroll or human resources information processing, benefits processing, fleet and gift card processing, electronic fund distribution and procurement or for other similar activities where Ceridian is acting as a third party agent.

 

If you apply for a job with Ceridian using our website you are consenting to the collection and processing of the information you enter.  This information is collected, used or disclosed for this purpose only.

 

Ceridian may, from time to time, use personal data that you provide, namely your e-mail or mailing address, to send you information about news, seminars and events that may be of interest to you. We do this to increase the value we provide to you. Should you no longer wish to receive this type of information, you will have the option, either by selecting options in our applications or by speaking with our customer care team, to indicate your choice.

 

How We Collect

We may collect information about you in writing, electronically or verbally. If we collect your information by telephone, the call may be recorded for monitoring, quality improvement and training purposes, or to create a record of your information and your instructions.

 

Website Traffic Patterns

Ceridian tracks and combines its website traffic patterns.  When you visit our site we may collect your IP Address, domain name, the date and time of your visit, operating system, browser type and version number, Internet Service Provider (ISP), the URL of the site from which you came, and the URL of the site to which you are going to when you leave our site.  Ceridian may provide this information relating to traffic volume and traffic patterns to reputable third-party suppliers.

 

We may share environmental information for behavioral marketing purposes; for example, marketing campaign cookies might be used to personalize advertisements to you.

 

Cookies and Web Beacons

Cookies are small amounts of data that are sent to your browser and stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies are either discarded after logging out or after a set time period. You can disable cookies by adjusting the settings on your web browser. Web Beacons are a very small (usually 1 x 1 pixel) transparent graphic images placed on WebPages and emails.  Typically, this technology is placed on a user’s computer by a third party website and is used to monitor the computers activity on a website.

 

We use cookies and web beacons to collect information about a user's visit to our site, to save and remember preferences that may have been set while the user was on the site, how a computer traverses our site, which URL a user came from and which URL a user is going to when they leave.

 

Sharing

Ceridian does not sell, trade or rent Personally Identifiable Information that has been collected.

Ceridian may share information gathered such as web traffic information, cookies, and web  beacons with third parties to track your visit and help us better understand what you are interested in and to enhance your overall Internet experience. Ceridian may use company domain names gathered when a user visits our site for sales and service offerings.

 

Ceridian may disclose necessary personal information about you with a third party that we have contracted with in order to provide the services that we offer.  For example, Ceridian discloses your name, bank account number and net pay amount to our financial institution partners in order for you to receive direct deposit payroll payments.

 

Ceridian reserves the right to co-operate with local, federal or national authorities or authorized investigative bodies in investigations of improper or unlawful activities, which may require the disclosure of personal information. If personal information is transferred to a foreign jurisdiction it may become subject to the lawful authority of the foreign jurisdiction.

 

Data Retention

It is Ceridian policy to only collect and retain information for the length of time needed to fulfill our contractual obligations. When we are collecting information on behalf of our customers it is the customer’s responsibility to inform us when the information should be deleted.

 

Links to other Websites

Ceridian websites contain links to other websites. Ceridian is not responsible for the privacy practices and content of third-party websites. We urge you not to supply personal information to these sites unless you have verified their security and privacy policies.

 

Data Protection

At Ceridian, we recognize the importance of conducting e-business within a confidential and secure environment. Ceridian employs industry standard techniques such as Secure Socket Layer technology, firewalls, encryption of data over unsecured networks, (such as the Internet) intrusion detection and site monitoring or such similar technology as may be adopted by Ceridian. Our data is stored within a secure physical environment.  Only authorized personnel may access this information for the purpose of fulfilling their employment duties in providing Ceridian services.  Ceridian personnel receive security training and comply with Ceridian's Code of Conduct. Security procedures are reviewed regularly and may change to reflect new enhancements in security practices or technology.

 

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed as 100% secure. As a result, while Ceridian sites strive to protect personal information, we cannot warrant the security of the information transmitted to or received from us.

 

How can a user help protect one's information?

If you use Ceridian's Web applications, you will be responsible for maintaining a user ID and password. Never tell your password to anyone. Protecting one's information also includes taking precautionary steps in accordance with industry best practices to ensure the integrity of data on your computer. We recommend you have anti-virus software running on your PC and that you update the anti-virus software definitions often. We also recommend you have start up passwords for your computer, remember to log off and close your browser window when you have finished your work and change your passwords on a regular basis.

 

Access and Accuracy

You have the right to access any personal data which we hold about you and have the right for it to be kept accurate and up-to-date. It is important that all personal information used by Ceridian to provide the services subscribed for be as accurate, complete and up-to-date as possible. It is the obligation of the customer to ensure that all personal information provided to Ceridian is current and accurate for the purpose for which it was provided.
